Downtown La Mesa

A village main street, a preserved railway depot and neighborhood kitchens beneath San Diego County’s inland hills. La Mesa offers a compact downtown for browsing, with more shops and restaurants along University Avenue and the Grossmont corridors.

Start with the La Mesa Depot Museum, then browse the shops on La Mesa Boulevard and choose a nearby lunch. The museum has limited visiting times, so check its calendar first. The McKinney House on University Avenue is a separate stop; a Lamplighters performance on Severin Drive belongs in an evening plan with a confirmed ticket.
